Easter

Easter has been a peaceful time although I have to admit to eating far too much especially chocolate...oops not only mine but others chocolate as well.
I spent my Saturday night dancing with my friend Helen. We go to the Elwood RSL which sounds as though we are old fogeys but we arent, the band is Ronnie Chales and the Retro bandits and they play a great range of 60 and 70's music guaranteed to make you dance.
In 1978 I travelled overland from London to Kathmandu on a double decker Bristol bus with a company called TopDeck. It was an amazing trip through the Middle East, Iran ,Afghanistan and into India and Nepal. I think it took us about 12 weeks, we cooked, ate and slept on the bus. Most of the "punters" as we were called were Australians and New Zealanders, an Englishman and an American.
To my surprise on Saturday one of our fellow travellors arrived at my home after almost 30 years, it was a bitter sweet reunion as he was close friends at the time with my husband but he had no knowledge that my husband had been killed 22 years ago. It was sad for him to have that news as he was excited with anticipation hoping to see him, we did enjoy our chats and time together and will now maintain contact. Our friend is visiting Australia from New Zealand and it was so special for him to find us.
Life is a constant circle of change and ends meeting again, I love that.
